Coopers Ale House

There's no better way to finish a day in the sun than surrounded by many friends and proper pub food.

We met up with Friends at the Coopers Ale House on Pultney St. It's a nice simple pub with the HUGEST Schnitzels I have ever seen, (I've tried before and been defeated!)

The Steak Burger was on special for $20 for a Burger and bottle of Mountain Goat Beer

The Beef Burger ($16.50) was huge and came with three chutneys for dipping a really nice touch!

The Chicken Schnitzel ($17.50) with Mushroom sauce was a struggle, lucky I was there to help!

The Classic, Chicken Schnitzel with Lemon and Salt.

And for me SA Tommy Ruff Fillets in Coopers Beer Batter of course! I chose to go the 2 fillets ($12.50) not the 4($19.50) so that I could help out with the schnitzels! The 2 fillets were very small and I would recommend going for the 4 fillets.

cheese fest 09

Saturday found me at cheese fest in Rymill park, I had a fantastic day tasing cheese and enjoying the sunshine, (perhaps a little too much, my arms are very pink!)

Woodside Cheese, the award winning Edith and a garlic pepper.

The pretiset Brie at the Show, So gooey and very tasty, this one is made by the cheese makers at TAFE where you can do short courses in cheese making, also one of my favorites the Red square from Tasmania.

What bad timing I'm up in Brisbane that weekend! SA food awards 5th November 2009

Udder delights took out Gold for the tasty goat curd, The Ashed Chevre is always delightful
Goat Brie, Adelaide Hills triple cream and Heysen Blue (3 for $20) very tasty, I'm not a big Blue fan but this blue was mild and scrumptous!

Montefiore Cheeses from Melbourne were definatly the Friendlist stall at the festival, The Ricotta was very Creamy and apparently very low in fat! avaliable from say cheese in the central markets!

King Island Brie proved a very popular stall

No festival is complete without goodie bags!
