Leaving Adelaide
Well I'm about to leave Adelaide again. I've spent the last couple of week's in gumeracha packing pears and training cherry tree's to grow with the arms out horizontally instead of the natural upwards one tree objected and won the fight by hitting me on the chin so I now have a big scab. hmm how pleasant.
I've been back in ad for the weekend, Yesterday, Sunday, me and Liam headed down to The star of Greece restaurant in pot Willunga, brilliant position on a cliff at the top of the beach, could watch the waves coming in over the white sand, very pretty and Very tasty food. Liam had the fish and chips which was huge! with homemade tartar sauce. I had the lamb which was wrapped around sundries tomatoes and came with carrots and creamy potato slices, is that gratin? anyhoo I had Quince tart to finnish with syrup and ice cream, delish! We went for a walk along the beach and watched 2 eagles chasing pigeons think they were wedge tailed eagles. I don't think I've ever seen an eagle before. Then we went to Mclaren Vale and sampled the wines at Wirra Wirra wineries where Liam bought the 1999 church block and at Hugh Hamilton Fine wines where I got a merlot. Hopefully will have a chance to drink it before I go on Wednesday.
I'm not looking forward to leaving at all. But at least I've managed to be happy and enjoy the last of my days here instead of moping and moaning. The Grand prix should be good, and once I'm in Melbourne I'm sure I'll love it.
s.x oh that's the rocking horse in Gumeracha that I never got round to climbing it shut at 5pm each day so I never made it. But it didn't rock so I think it was false advertising anyway.

Wow
Wow wow wow wow wow
Today i took a day off from picking Strawberries and went to Kettering where the Australian Antarctic Division Head Quarters are. They have a museum it was really interesting and had clothes you could dress up in in a huge dressing up box! so groovy! Drank tea in the cafe downstairs and looked at lots of pretty pictures of ice. sadly no postcards or i would be busy writing them rather than e-mailing.
So i'm in my 3rd week of Strawberry picking, it's going good and i'm scoffing a fair few as i go along, so getting plenty of fruit. The hostel is a bit busy as more and more peple are arriving and waiting for apple season to start apparently you can make rally good money picking apples but you have to carry your ladder from tree to tree and pick into a bag which hangs around your neck. sounds like to much hard work for me.
Oh the Fire alarms are malfunctioning so they have been going off 6 or 7 times a night for the last few days, very sleepy and taking lots of afternoon naps.
Anyhoo not a lot of news as i haven't been up to much while here. I'm off to Adelaide on Tuesday to visit Liam for a bit and hopefully find another fruit picking job quite quickly.

just like the birds i'm flying south
Hello
How is everybody???? Afraid it's mass e-mail time again.
I'm in Tasmania! it's actually cold. i had to put a jumper on yesterday as i wandered round the docks looking at all the nice yaughts i would like if i were a millionaire. a girl can dream.
Anyhoo tassie is proving to be a good choice i left the humidity of Queesland last week for the heat of Adelaide. stayed with Liam for a few days, we went to the beach as it was far too hot to do anything else. yery nice beaches. and i saw my first Koala! so sleepy and cute and an even cuter tasmanian devil so i'm on the look out for one here which i can sneek into my rucksack and take home with me.
anyhoo i have a fruit picking job lined up to start on monday and i met a girl in my hostel who is doing the same job but starting on friday, strawberry picking. it's 2 weeks before the season actually starts so probably won't make much money but will at least be a week or 2 closer to my 3 months and new visa!
I tried to go to a nice antartic information centre thing today, which sounded really groovy in lonely plannet but i got there and the girl in the book shop next door said it closed down 2 years ago. grrrrr. so i went shopping instead and bought new trowsers and socks, was ment to buy a belt but you never end up getting the stuff you need where's the fun in that.
anyhoo, tomorrow is Australia day and nobody seems to know if there is anything on for it but most things seem to be shut. apparently i ought to have a BBQ abd a day in the pub, so that sounds like a plan.
oh i just realised how long it is since i e-mailed quick catch up.
Christmas was hot, we had roast Ham done on the BBQ, and very very tasty fish kebabs.
The Juice bar that i was working in was sold and there was a big mix up with my pay, but eventually i got the money and worked lots of hours to save up some cash and completly forgot to do any touristy things in Brisbane before i left so i will just have to go back again.
Claire my flatmate from Edinburgh came to visit and we went down to Byron Bay for a few days, had a terrible lack of accomodation and ended up sleeping in a 10 person teepee our second night which was actually quite fun, it rained LOTS. the sun came out the morning we left so we got to see the beach properly.
Geoffrey my brother got evacuated from his work because of cyclone claire and now a second one has evacuated him again. but all good just more time off i guess.
right i really have no news so i better go as internet is expensive here, $5/hour and apparently this is the cheepest in Tasmania.
hope your all doing good, let me know what your up to
